PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Public Works services provided in our community are an integral part
of the daily lives of our residents; and
WHEREAS, the efficient and effective provision of these services greatly enhances
the health, safety, and welfare of our community; and
WHEREAS, quality and effectiveness in the design and construction of public
facilities and in the provision of public services is vitally dependent on the
knowledge, skills, and dedication of the Public Works staff and officials in the City of
Tukwila; and
WHEREAS, the support of the community and the understanding of the importance
of the work performed by Public Works staff significantly influences their ability to
respond to the needs of the residents; and
WHEREAS, 2021 marks the 61st annual National Public Works Week, sponsored by
the American Public Works Association;
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby proclaim
May 16 through May 22, 2021 as:
National Public Works Week: Stronger Together
in the City of Tukwila, and I invite all residents and civic organizations to
recognize the daily contributions our Public Works Department staff make to our
health, safety and quality of life.
