Remote Meeting per Governor Proclamation 20-28 August 23, 2021 — 9:11 P.M.
MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING
This meeting was conducted remotely, with the City Council, Mayor, and staff off-site and
participating via a remote electronic system.
All participants, including the Mayor, Councilmembers, City staff, and legal counsel were not
at Tukwila City Hall and participated via a remote electronic system.
The phone number for public participation that was provided via the agenda distribution
process was: 1-253-292-9750, access code 670077847# as well as a link to join the Microsoft
Teams Meeting,
Mayor Ekberg called the remote Special Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order at 9:11 p.m. directly
following the Committee of the Whole meeting.
ROLL CALL
Andy Youn, Deputy City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present at the virtual meeting were
Councilmembers Verna Seal, Kathy Hougardy, De'Sean Quinn, Thomas McLeod, Zak Idan, Cynthia
Delostrinos Johnson.
MOVED BY QUINN, SECONDED BY IDAN TO EXCUSE COUNCIL PRESIDENT KRULLER FROM
THE MEETING. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.

Allan Ekberg, Mayor; David Cline, City Administrator; Rachel Bianchi, Deputy City Administrator; Nora
Gierloff, Community Development Director; Vicky Carlsen, Finance Director; Jay Wittwer, Fire Chief;

$296,738.80.
b. Authorize the Mayor to sign a contract with Long Painting Company for the Tukwila Community
Center Exterior Painting Project in the amount of $118,333.28.

MOVED BY SEAL, SECONDED BY QUINN THAT THE CONSENT AGENDA BE APPROVED AS
SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.

Mayor Ekberg announced the Council will now go into an Executive Session to discuss:

The total amount of time will be no more than 60 minutes, and no decisions will be made during the
Executive Session. Noaction will berequired inthe Open Meeting after the Executive Session has
concluded.
He declared the meeting adjourned as of the conclusion of the Executive Session. The Executive
Session will not be extended beyond the announced time, and they will not be returning to open session
to adjourn orfor any other reason.
9:14 p.m. Mayor Ekberg called for obrief recess to allow the CmumoiKmnemmbon$to convene
separate remote meeting.
