HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0247 - Andover Property Annexation (South 180th Street to South)ORDINANCE NO. 247 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA, ANNEXING PROPERTY TO THE TOWN OF TUKWILA UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 128 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON FQR 1945, WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 128 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1945 a petition in writing asking for the annexation of certain lamari:y n^ntiguouz to the town limits of -tiie Town of Tukwila hereinafter more particularly described has been filed with the Town Council, signed by the owners of not less than 75% in value, according to the asses€ed valuation for general taxation, of the property for which annexation is petitioned, which petition sets forth a legal description of the property and was accompanied by plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of the property sought to be annexed, and WHEREAS, the Town Council has heretofore fixed Novemner 12, 1957, at the hour of 8 :00 p.m., in the Council Chambers in'the Towri Hall, Tukwila, Washington, as the time and place for public hearing upon such petition, and a copy of said notice was published in the Renton Chronicle, a legal newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Tukwila, and was posted in three public places within the territory proposed for annexation, which... notices specified the.time and place of such hearing and invited interested persons to appear and voice approval or .disapproval of the annexation, and WHEREAS, at the time and place set for said hearing, the council approved the petition for annexation and set midnight, November 25, 1957, as the effective date of the annexation Now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of Tukwila, as follows: SECTION l: That pursuant the provisions of Chapter 128 of the Session Laws of the State of Washington for:1945 the following described property contiguous to the town limits of the Town of Tukwila, to -wit: Beginning at a point on the present Southerly eity limits of Tukwila at the intersection of Macadam Road and Renton -Three Tree Point Road; thence Westerly along the Northern Right- of_Way of said Renton -Three Tree Point road to the center line of 53rd Avenue South; thence Southerly along said center line to the cent( line of South 160th Street; thence Northwesterly along the canter line of South 160th Street to'a point 330 feet East of the West 11 of Section 26, Township 23 North, Range 4.East W.M.; thence South 0 East 585 feet, more or less, to a_-point 1740 feet North c the East and West center line of said Section -26; thence South 89 East 334 feet; thence South 0°14'13 East 1740 feet to 1 center line of South 168th Street; thence Easterly along center 11 of South 168th Street, 192 feet, to the center line of 53rd Avenue South; thence Southerly along said center line of 53rd Avenue Bout 1640.70 feet, more or less, to the South end- of 53rd Avenue South; thence East 455.77 feet to the East line of the Southwest tof the Southwest 4 of said Section 26; thence South along said East line the Southwest of the Southwest and along the East ling of the Northwest 4 of the Northwest of- Section 35, Township 23 North, Range 4 East W.M., a distance of 1803 feet, more or less, to the center line of South 178th Street; thence Southeasterly and Eastez along the center line of South 178th Street to.the intersection of 57th Avenue South and South 180th Street; thence Easterly along tt center line of South 180th Street to the Easterly line of Governme Lot 1 in Section 36, Township 23 North, Range 4. East W.M., and the Westerly bank of the Green River, sometimes known and referred to the White River; thence Northerly along the .Westerly bank of the Green River, sometimes known and referred to as the White River, t the present Southerly city limits of Tukwila; thence Northwesterly Southwesterly and Westerly along the present city limits of Tukwil to the point of beginning; shall be and the same hereby is annexed to °l the Town of Tukwila. SECTION 11. The said annexation shall be effective on and after Midnight November 25, 1957 and from and after said date property shall be subject to all the laws and ordinances of the Town of Tukwila then and thereafter in force. SECTION 111. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days from and after its passage, approval and legal publieatior as provided by la*. PASSED this 18TH DAY OF November, 1957. PETITION FOR ANNEXATION TO THE HONORABLE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON: We, the undersigned, owners of not less than 75% in value according to the assessed valuation and general taxation of the property hereinafter described, a plat of which is here- to attached showing the boundaries of the property sought to be annexed, do hereby petition for annexation to the Town of Tukwila of the following described property, to -wit: That portion of sections 35 and 36, township 23 north range 4 east, W.M. described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of South 180th Street and the centerline of .Secondary State Highway No. 5 -M; thence southerly along the centerline of said highway to a point that is North ii #6' East, 1115.77 feet from the southeast corner of section 35 township 23 north, range 4 east, W.M.; thence North 88 27' West to the centerline of the White River; thence northerly along the centerline of the White River to an intersection with the extension southerly of the east line of the west 20 acres of Government Lot 1 of said section 35; thence northerly along said east line to an intersection with the centerline of .nth 180th Street designated by Ordinance No. 247, Town of Tukwila as the town limit line; thence easterly along said centerline and said limit line extended to the point of beginning of this description, which area is contiguous to the Town of Tukwila Edward A.
