Remote Meeting per Governor Proclamation 20-28 September 13, 2021 —10:04 P.M.
SPECIAL MEETING
This meeting was conducted remotely, with the City Council, Mayor, and staff off-site and
participating via a remote electronic system.
All participants, including the Mayor, Councilmembers, City staff, and legal counsel were not
at Tukwila City Hall and participated via a remote electronic system.
The phone number for public participation that was provided via the agenda distribution
process was: 1-253-292-9750, access code 670077847# as well as a link to join the Microsoft
Teams Meeting.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Ekberg called the remote Special Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order at 10:04 p.m.
directly following the Committee of the Whole meeting.
ROLL CALL
Andy Youn, Deputy City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present at the virtual meeting were
Councilmembers Verna Seal, Kathy Hougardy, De'Sean Quinn, Kate Kruller, Thomas McLeod, Zak Idan,
Cynthia Delostrinos Johnson.

c. Authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with the Washington State Department of Transportation
(WSDOT) for the Riverton Creek Flapgate Removal Project in the amount of $150,000.00.

SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED 7-0.

Approve an additional .25 in funding to bring the current .75 position to 1 full-time employee (FTE)
in the Municipal Court for the Court Support Case Manager.
MOVED BY SEAL, SECONDED BY MCLEOD TO APPROVE AN ADDITIONAL .25 IN FUNDING TO
BRING THE CURRENT .75 POSITION TO I FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE (FTE) IN THE MUNICIPAL
COURT FOR THE COURT SUPPORT CASE MANAGER.*

Mayor Ekberg announced the Council will now go into an Executive Session to discuss:

Executive Session. No action will be required in the Open Meeting after the Executive Session has
concluded.
He declared the meeting adjourned as of the conclusion of the Executive Session. The Executive
Session will not bmextended beyond the announced time, and they will not bereturning toopen session
toadjourn orfor any other reason.
