Chair Delostrinos Johnson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
I. BUSINESSAGENDA
A. Law Enforcement Training & Community Safety Act (LETCSA) Update
Staff provided an overview of the implementation of LETCSA, including areas of concern for
law enforcement that may result in future amendments.

B. Community Connectors Program Update
Staff presented an update on the Community Connectors Advisory Committee's efforts to
create a new civic academy program to launch next year.

C. Cascade Behavioral Health Hospital Safety
Chief Drever and Mr. West addressed safety concerns raised by employees at Cascade
Behavioral Health Hospital. Committee members expressed a need to fully understand the
situation in order to support the employees.

D. City Soccer Fields
Staff discussed possibilities for synthetic turf fields, which was identified as a goal in the PROS
plan for Foster Memorial Park and Tukwila Community Center but currently unbudgeted. Staff
has researched the potential of "temporary field solutions" and will seek funding
opportunities.
