AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, 11 CONCERNING WATER RATES, AMENDING ORDINANCES 264, 603, 1190, AND 1191 AND REPEALING SECTION 14 OF ORDINANCE 1190. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: I. Ordinance No. 603, Section 1 and 3 (1), adopted the 15th day of December, 1969, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1. (TMC 14.04.071) Regular Connection Charge. In addition to the reimbursement of the cost of meter installation required, the property owner seeking connection to the water system of the City and in order that such property owners shall bear their equitable share of the cost of the City's entire water system, shall pay prior to connection to a City water system, a regular connection charge in accordance with the fol- lowing schedule: METER SIZE CHARGE 3/4" $25 799$ 50.00 1 35 799$ 75.00 1 -112" 59- 99$100.00 2 199. 99$150.00 3 200.00 4" 300.00 6" 400.00 8" 600.00 10" 700:00 12" 800.OU Section 3. (TMC 14.04.074) Computation of special con- nection charge. The special connection charge imposed by TMC 14.04.072 shall be paid to the Water Fund and Sewer- Fund-and shall be computed as follows: (1) For Lateral Distribution Water Lines: The number of units of property furnished to be served by water determined in the manner prescribed in RCW 35.44.030 and 35.44.040 for determining "assessable units of frontage," shall be multiplied by the average local improvement assessment per unit of frontage for Lateral- sewers distribution water in the City of Seattle for the year in which the water line to which the property is to be connected was constructed. and- aeeepted- as- eefflpleted -as set- fertb }e- Erb} b }t- A by- tb }s- referenee- jade -a- part- ef- tl� }s- erd�nanee; prev�ded H owever, if the water line to which the property is to be con- nected has been constructed after 1966, the charge shall be a- fTat46 -99 per assembled- en }t -ef- frontage the current LID water charge by the City of Seattle per assessable unit of frontage. II. Ordinance No. 264, Sections 10 and 11, adopted the 17th day of November, 1958, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 10. (TMC 14.04.100) Additional property connected- fee. If additional property is connected, such property may be charged at double the rate for the time they are in use, and the service may be shut off and a charge of f4de -�$5 7994 twenty -five ($25.00) dollars made for shutting off and turning on such service. In the case water shall be turned off as provided in this section, the same shall not be turned on again until all rates and charges against such property have been paid in full. Section 11. (TMC 14.04.110) Change in size of location of connection. A change in the size or location of a service connection shall be paid for by the owner on the bas.is of the cost of materials and labor involved in making said change, plus administrative overhead. 111 411 III. Ordinance No. 1190, Section 12, 19, and 20, adopted the 15th day of December, 1980, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 12. (TMC 14.04.120) Application to Discontinue Water -Fee to Turn Water Meter On. Whenever any water customer desires to discontinue the use of water for a period of not less than one month, he shall make written application to have the water turned off and pay all arrears in full. A charge of f4fteeR twenty -five dollars will be made to turn water on. No rem4ss4en reduction of rates will be made for less than one month, or without the application prescribed in this section. Section 19. (TMC 14.04.190) Violation of Section 18 (TMC 14.04.180). If any person violates any provision of Section 14.04.180, the•superv}ser City shall shut off the water furnished to the property upon which such violation is made, and shall charge f }fteee twenty -five dollars for shutting off and again turning on such water. Section 20. (TMC 14.04.200) City Control of Water Use. The City reserves the right, in case of a shortage of water from any cause to make an order forbidding or suspending the use of water for sprinkler or irrigation, or to fix the hours during which the same may be done, by proper notice and. Any person violating such order shall have his water shut off by the superv}ser City and shall pay a charge of f}fteee twenty -five dollars for having the water shut off and turned on again. IV. Ordinance No. 264, Section 27, adopted the 17th day of November, 1958, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 27. (TMC 14.04.280) Failure to receive bill. Failure to receive a bill will not be recognized as a valid excuse for failure to pay rates when due. Change of ownership of property and change in mailing address must be filed in writing with the ;awn-Treasurer Finance Director. V. Ordinance No. 1191, Section 4 (TMC 14.04.330(d) adopted the 15th day of December, 1980, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 4. Rates for water used through temporary meters are as follows: A. 3/4" 1" $25.00 plus water usage at the rate of 36 50(t per 100 cu. ft. B. 2 1/2" $50.00 plus water usage at the rate of 36(t 50 per 100 cu. ft. VI. Section 14 of Ordinance No. 1190 (TMC 14.04.140) Rates to be charged against property -Lien is hereby repealed.
