HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1295 - City Administrator 'S9 f0 CITY OF TU K WILA �j WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 5 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, CREATING THE POSITION OF CITY ADMINISTRATOR. WHEREAS, RCW 35A.12.100 provides that cities may, by ordi- nance, create the position of City Administrator, and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the City that such a position be created to promote the efficient management of City affairs. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is hereby created the position of City Administrator. The City Administrator's duties shall include assisting the Mayor in all administrative af- fairs, including the supervision of department heads. Section 2. The Mayor shall appoint, with confirmation of the City Council, and the Mayor shall remove the City Administrator. Section 3. The City Administrator shall be required to sign a contract with the City of Tukwila which covers detailed terms of employment, including, as a prerequi- site to employment by the City, to agree to reside in the City during his term as City Administrator. Section 4. The budget for the position of City Admini- strator shall be provided for in the 1984 budget, at the rate set forth in the Annual Budget adopted by the City Council. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this day of 1983. In accordance`Vith I.W. 35A.12.130, Mayor VanDusen has elected to allow this ordinance to become valid without his approval.
