ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY
OF TUKWILA (COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "SOUTHGATE"
ANNEXATION), PROVIDING FOR ASSUMPTION BY SAID
TERRITORY OF CITY BONDED INDEBTEDNESS AND ZONING
SAID TERRITORY.
WHEREAS, a petition to annex the real property hereinafter
described has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila,
signed by owners of one hundred percent of the property according to
the assessed valuation for the general taxation of property for which
annexation is petitioned, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila has determined
that all property within the territory seeking to be annexed shall, upon
annexation, be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis
as the property of the City of Tukwila is assessed and taxed to pay for
any outstanding indeDItedness of the City of Tukwila existing prior to or
at the date of annexation cf this property, and
WHEREAS, the City Council fixed the date of November 15, 1982,
as the date for public hearing thereon and caused due and proper notice
of said hearing to be posted and published as required by law, conducted
the hearing on that date and received no comments critical of the annexa-
tion, and
WHEREAS, with respect to the State Environmental Policy Act of
1971, a formal declaration of environmental non significance was entered
in the Tukwila SEPA public information center on August 2, 1982.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKvlILA,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The territory requesting annexation to the City of
Tukwila is situated in King County, State of Washington, is contiguous,
proximate and adjacent to the present corporate limits of the City and is
more particularly described in Exhibit A and depicted on Exhibit B, both
of which are attached and incorporated in full by this reference.
Section 2. The territory set forth in this ordinance and for
which the petition for annexation is filed is hereby annexed to the City
of Tukwila.
Section 3. All the property within this territory annexed
hereby shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same
basis as property within the City of Tukwila, including assessment of
taxes and payment of any bonds issued or debts contracted prior to or
existing at the date of annexation.
Section 4. Said area hereby annexed shall be and hereby is
classified and zoned as R -1 -7.2 (Single Family Residential).
Section 5. The area annexed hereby shall become a part of
the City of Tukwila and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
on the 16th day of December 1982.

SOUTHGATE ANNEXATION:
Those portions of tracts 57, 58, 62 and 63 of Riverside Interurban Tracts,
according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume 10 of Plats, on page 74,
records of King County, Washington, lying northerly of the north right of
way margin of South 133rd Street; easterly of the easterly right of way
margin of East Marginal Way South (AKA South 131st Place and AKA Riverton
Renton Junction Road); westerly of the west right of way margin of 42nd
Avenue South; and southerly of the south right of way margin of South
131st Street and its westerly extension to said East Marginal Way South.
*AMENDMENT TO EXHIBIT A OF ORDINANCE NO. 1283, PER LETTER FROM KING COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS DATED FEBRUARY 28, 1983. THIS AMENDMENT IS

Those portions of Tracts 57, 58, 62 and 63 of Riverside Interurban
Tracts unrecorded, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume
10 of Plats, on Page 74, Records of King County, Washington, lying
northerly and easterly of Riverton- Renton Junction Road (South 133
rd Street); Westerly of 42nd Avenue South; And southerly of the South
line of South_ 131st Street extended westerly from 41st Avenue South
to said Riverton Renton Junction Road.
