Rachel Bianchi, Deputy City Administrator briefed the Commissioners on
the Tukwila Police Department community participation in the interview
process. Both Dr. Eileen English and Joe Duffie have agreed to participate.
Staff will work with Dr. English and Mr. Duffie, including PD staff to
develop a rubric for qualifying questions.
Commissioners brainstormed ideas to honor the late former City Council
member Joan Hernandez and founder of the Equity & Diversity
Commission. Councilmember and Commissioner Kathy Hougardy has
agreed to take on the task to research and report back to the Commission
on Mrs. Hernandez legacy.
Commissioners discussed pushing back the start time from 5:15 p.m. to
5:30 p.m., starting in November 2021 and will re-
meeting if this will be the standard moving forward.
Commissioner Draganov and Rachel Bianchi, City Deputy Administrator
will work together on engagement efforts for the Commission as a whole.
Commissioners Gabriela Quintana and Jonathan Joseph have agreed to
work together on identifying priorities for the commission.
