This also serves as a response to "Correction Item No. 1". The location of the new man -door opening places it within the cast -in-place concrete infill of an existing 12'-0" high by 14'-0" wide original panel opening. This concrete tiltup wall panel was reinforced adjacent to all sides of the original opening to facilitate construction. This panel experienced greater stresses during the erection from horizontal on the slab to its final vertical wall orientation than as a structural element in this wall elevation. The removal of a rectangle 3'-2" wide by 6'-10" high will have will have negligible effect on the integrity of this panel. The concrete infill portion of the concrete only spans 12'-0" from slab to top of original opening. The weight reduction caused by removing this concrete will benefit the overall structure by also reducing the out -of -plane seismic forces if an earthquake should ever occur. Since I started designing buildings in 1987 I have yet to experience the case where a strongback was required to brace a man -door sized opening in a concrete tiltup wall panel in a building over 14'-0" high. The greatest stress in a wall panel occurs in the middle third of the panel's height. The wall reinforcement to account for this stress is installed as full height bars. Before the panel can be tilted the panel is checked for erection stresses and if necessary steel is added to account for these stresses. In this case, for a large opening, there are extra jamb bars added for erection and out -of -plane code required forces. Provide engineers seismic analysis and calculations for cutting of the concrete panel and to verify if any seismic bracing shall be required. 2. Enlarged plan on sheet A1.01 shows a dimension 12'. Please clarify if that was to be the total length of the enclosure or something else. Provide the total dimension length of the closure. 3. In addition to item 2, at the base of the stairs a 14' dimension is shown; however, the other end of that dimension is off the page. Please clarify. 4. Architectural plans as well as any engineer's documents and drawings shall include with the signed stamp, the date of that stamp and signature. Provide new plan sheets with date included on the signed stamps and on all sheets. See General Note above. 5. On the site plan, the steps are shown to land on the existing walkway. Provide an enlarged plan view of that section to show the walkway has the required width at that point but also the point of which the sloping parallel line of the stair nosing intersects the walkway, the landing is no less than 36 inches from that point. Note: Contingent on response to these corrections, further plan review may request for additional corrections. 9/In P__..L .. ___. __. n__.1 - _I 0__t._ _Let /In - m t •1 ... The minimum requirements set forth in this Specification should be used in procurement and in the review of design and construction information provided by engineers and contractors. LED lighting technology continues to evolve with improvements in efficiency, controls and quality as well as cost reductions over time. As our installed base of LED lighting in the portfolio increases and as the LED market and products evolve, we intend to update these specifications. at least annually. The following general requirements apply to all Prologis lighting projects: 1. All work should be permitted and performed in accordance with local codes. 2. A photometric illumination study is required for all new construction and retrofits. For studies, reflectance values of ceilings, walls, floors should be chosen based on the specific space being lit, utilizing photos, site observation, etc. 3. Local, regional or tenant -driven deviations to this specification may be appropriate, but must be approved or directed by Prologis. 4. Branch wiring #2 and smaller shall be copper. 5. Conduit and cable shall run parallel to or at 90° to building lines. 6. Overhead conduits to be EMT. Alternate types for special conditions to be approved by Prologis. 7. Junction boxes shall be labeled with source panel and circuits contained. 8. Conduits above the roof deck (under the insulation) or within or below the slab are not allowed. Fixture Application: Illumination to be achieved with high -bay fixtures as required to meet the design intent. Lighting design calculations shall be based on an open, nonracked floor plan assuming fixtures are mounted at the building "Clear Height" (the height above the warehouse floor at the bottom of the lowest roof beams/joists as calculated just inside the first column line in from the dock wall). Regardless of this theoretical mounting height, actual fixture installation shall be in accordance with the detail below. When available, racking plans should be used to further refine the design and achieve a quality, cost-efficient lighting outcome. Luminaires shall be installed per the detail below with MC Cable whips containing #12 AWG conductors, 15' in length or as allowed by code. At a minimum, luminaires should be provided with integral occupancy/daylight sensors for local, non -networked control. A manual switch (operating lighting contactors) to turn on lighting in the first bay (speed bay or staging bay) shall be provided in a location approved by Prologis in the warehouse near the door from the office into the warehouse. For structures without skylights, daylight sensors should only be provided on fixtures adjacent to dock doors or other large openings. All sensor and control types shall be selected by the design professional. Care should be taken to ensure the specific sensor matches the use of the space, occupancy type, spatial and environmental factors, and local code. 3. Exterior A. Minimum Illumination: 1. Trailer parking and truck courts: 0.5 FC average (at grade) 2. Auto parking: 1 FC average (at grade) 3. Main building entry and exits: 5 FC average (at grade) 4.
