No.: Date: 6 Boeing 9-08 Lobby 10/9/2017 6 Warnings • The anchor design methods in PROFIS Anchor require rigid anchor plates per current regulations (ETAG 001/Annex C, EOTA TR029, etc.). This means load re -distribution on the anchors due to elastic deformations of the anchor plate are not considered - the anchor plate is assumed to be sufficiently stiff, in order not to be deformed when subjected to the design loading. PROFIS Anchor calculates the minimum required anchor plate thickness with FEM to limit the stress of the anchor plate based on the assumptions explained above. The proof if the rigid base plate assumption is valid is not carried out by PROFIS Anchor. Input data and results must be checked for agreement with the existing conditions and for plausibility! • Condition A applies when supplementary reinforcement is used. The cD factor is increased for non -steel Design Strengths except Pullout Strength and Pryout strength. Condition B applies when supplementary reinforcement is not used and for Pullout Strength and Pryout Strength. Refer to your local standard. • Refer to the manufacturer's product literature for cleaning and installation instructions. • Checking the transfer of loads into the base material and the shear resistance are required in accordance with ACI 318 or the relevant standard! • An anchor design approach for structures assigned to Seismic Design Category C, D, E or F is given in ACI 318-14, Chapter 17, Section 17.2.3.4.3 (a) that requires the governing design strength of an anchor or group of anchors be limited by ductile steel failure. If this is NOT the case, the connection design (tension) shall satisfy the provisions of Section 17.2.3.4.3 (b), Section 17.2.3.4.3 (c), or Section 17.2.3.4.3 (d). The connection design (shear) shall satisfy the provisions of Section 17.2.3.5.3 (a), Section 17.2.3.5.3 (b), or Section 1723.5.3 (c). • Section 17.2.3.4.3 (b) / Section 17.2.3.5.3 (a) require the attachment the anchors are connecting to the structure be designed to undergo ductile yielding ata load level corresponding to anchor forces no greater than the controlling design strength. Section 17.2.3.4.3 (c) / Section 17.2.3.5.3 (b) waive the ductility requirements and require the anchors to be designed for the maximum tension / shear that can be transmitted to the anchors by a non -yielding attachment. Section 17.2.3.4.3 (d) / Section 17.2.3.5.3 (c) waive the ductility requirements and require the design strength of the anchors to equal or exceed the maximum tension / shear obtained from design load combinations that. include E, with E increased by wo. • Hilti post -installed anchors shall be installed in accordance with the Hilti Manufacturer's Printed Installation Instructions (MPII). Reference ACI 318-14, Section 17.8.1. Fastening meets the design criteria! Input data and results must be checked for agreement with the existing conditions and for plausibility! The ct factor is increased for non -steel Design Strengths except Pullout Strength and Pryout strength. Section 17.2.3.4.3 (c) / Section 17.2.3.5.3 (b) waive the ductility requirements and require the anchors to be designed for the maximum tension / shear that can be transmitted to the anchors by a non -yielding attachment. Section 17.2.3.4.3 (d) / Section 17.2.3.5.3 (c) waive the ductility requirements and require the design strength of the anchors to equal or exceed the maximum tension / shear obtained from design load combinations that include E, with E increased by coo. • Hilti post -installed anchors shall be installed in accordance with the Hilti Manufacturer's Printed Installation Instructions (MPI!). LESLIE, P.E. KATHY A. HARGRAVE, P.E. LARRY G. LINDELL, P.E. MICHAEL A. McEVILLY, P.L.S. The purpose of this letter is to respond to the permit review comments for the above project that are on the attached letter from the City of Tukwila dated October 26, 2017 The review comment along with response is listed below. The drawings that are affected by these comments have been revised and an entire set of drawings is attached with this letter. The revisions on the drawings are clouded and noted with a revision symbol. Building Review Notes: 1.) City of Tukwila Comment: The plan calls for a new raised floor system. However, it is not clear at to where the raised floor starts by a step or ramp. Please provide clarification and include manufactures installation details for the raised floor system. Show an accessible ramp detail if applicable. Sitts & Hill Engineers Response: The existing floor system in the proposed work area is currently a raised floor system that will be replaced and reconfigured to accommodate the new use of the spaces. The rooms are now delineated and notes on drawing 1/1A450, they are Vestibule -100, Conference Room -100A and Storage Room -100B. The finish floor level of the new raised floor system will be flush with the same level of the surrounding existing building floor area therefore no ramps or steps will be required to access this new area. The Scope of Work on drawing sheet Al has been revised along with drawing 1/1A450, Finish Schedule 4/A350 and Material Finish Schedule 5/A350 to help make this clear. Manufacturer product data and installation details of the raised floor system have been attached to this letter. The specification for the raised floor system is described on drawing sheet A2. 2.) City of Tukwila Comment: Indicate ceiling height to the raised floor system. Also provide dimensions for height of raised floor system on the detail A sheet A501. br Oziq Civil, Structural and Surveying RECEIVED CITY OF TUKWILA NOV 0 9 2017 PERMIT CENTER 0 0 November 6, 2017 Page 2 of 2 Sifts & Hill Engineers Response: The height of the ceiling is 9'-0" above finish floor level. This is now noted on drawing 1/1A451 and the Room Finish Schedule 4/A350. Also, dimensions for the height of the raised floor system have been added to Section A/A501. A "Field Verify" note has been included with this dimension, as the intention is for the new raised floor system to be at the same elevation as the existing floor system. 3.) Engineer's calculations indicate bolting the floor system to the concrete floor. Provide the required special inspections for the floor systems bolting/anchoring to the floor. Sitts & Hill Engineers Response: Please see the attached completed Special Inspection package for this project. 4.) Provide a completed 2015 Washington State Energy Code "LIGHTING SUMMARY" Compliance Forms for Commercial Buildings available online at: http://www.neec.net/energy-codes (scroll down to center of page "2015 WSEC Commercial Provisions — Compliance Forms").
