PERMIT CONDITIONS: 1: Readily accessible access to roof mounted equipment is required. 2: All construction shall be done in conformance with the Washington State Building Code and the Washington State Energy Code. 3: Remove all demolition rubble and loose miscellaneous material from lot or parcel of ground, properly cap the sanitary sewer connections, and properly fill or otherwise protect all basements, cellars, septic tanks, wells, and other excavations. Final inspection approval will be determined by the building inspector based on satisfactory completion of this requirement. 4: All plumbing and gas piping work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building Department (206-431-3670). 5: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center. 6: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data. 7: ***MECHANICAL PERMIT CONDITIONS*** 8: All mechanical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center (206/431-3670). 9: Manufacturers installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection. 10: Type 1 Hoods, the required grease duct leakage test and (light test shall be performed by a special inspection and testing agency in accordance with I.M.C. Chapter 5. 11: When special inspection is required, either the owner or the registered design professional in responsible charge, shall employ a special inspection agency and notify the Building Official of the appointment prior to the first building inspection. The special inspector shall furnish inspection reports to the Building Official in a timely manner. 12: A final report documenting required special inspections and correction of any discrepancies noted in the inspections shall be submitted to the Building Official. The final inspection report shall be prepared by the approved special inspection agency and shall be submitted to the Building Official prior to and as a condition of final inspection approval. 17: Type I hood systems shall be designed and installed to automatically activate the exhaust fan whenever cooking operations occur. The activation of the exhaust fan shall occur through an interlock with the cooking appliances, by means of heat sensors or by means of other approved methods. (IMC 507.2.1.1) 14: A Type 1 hood shall be installed at or above all commercial cooking appliances and domestic cooking appliances used for commercial purposes that produce grease vapors. Each required commercial kitchen exhaust hood and duct system required by section 610 of the International Fire Code to have a Type 1 hood shall be protected with an approved automatic fire -extinguishing system installed in accordance with this code. (IFC 904.2.1 and IFC 904,11) Automatic fire -extinguishing systems shall comply with UL 300 or other equivalent standards and shall be installed in accordance with the requirements of the listing. (NFPA 96, 10.2.3) 16: All new automatic fire -extinguishing systems and all modifications to existing automatic fire -extinguishing systems shall have fire department review and approval of drawings prior to installation or modification. 18: U.L. central station supervision is required. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. The clearance between the floor and the bottom of the installed hand-held extinguishers shall not be less than 4 inches (102 mm). D16-0331. We had hoped to be able to schedule our Hood/Duct and Mechanical Efficiency Inspections prior to the deadline but due to an error on one of our contractor's parts, the control panel for the kitchen Hood/Duct system is currently stuck in "Fire" mode when energized. This has already led to one false alarm being sent to the Tukwila Fire Department. We are coordinating with our electricians and fire suppression contractors to correct this issue and hope to schedule the inspections in the very near future. While we could request an inspection on one of these systems (and fail to pass inspection) to automatically create a new 180 day period, we would prefer to wait until we've had the work completed to a level that we feel prepared to pass successfully, as well as bundle as many related inspections on the same day as to best utilize both the inspectors' time as well as our own. We appreciate your time and understanding. Per the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and/or the National Electric Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the provisions of these codes shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit has not begun within 180 days from the issuance date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work has begun for a period of 180 days. Your permit will expire on 6/2/2018. Based on the above, you are hereby advised to: 1) Call the City of Tukwila Inspection Request Line at 206-438-9350 to schedule for the next or final inspection.
