Yes — a sign permit would be required. We would need to confirm the size of the sign and the size of the wall area and the location/placement of the sign. I've attached the sign permit application and worksheet that we would need as part of the submittal, as well as the examples and checklist sheet. You can email the application and plans to me if you would like, and I can call for Visa or Mastercard payment after I have everything set up. Or you can mail the packet to me with a check. The review fee is $260.40 per sign. What is that address and business we are referring to? I can try to find the original permit and see if we have any useful info in the file. Also, if you are disconnecting/interrupting any power then an electrical permit will be required for reconnecting. We have a customer who wants to put awnings above a door of their tenant (two locations). What they need us to do is remove the existing sign and move it up on the wall about 7 feet so 2 the awning will fit below it. Do I need to permit the moving of the sign even though it was permitted when we installed the signs years ago? Nothing is changing except the move of the sign up the wall.
