projecting signs. This sign permit application can be used to determine the total number of building mounted signs permitted
for your business. The application also provides the specific code standards for the common types of building mounted signs;
see TMC 19 Sign Code for details. Please note that you may not qualify for all signage types outlined in this application.

Hi Sunday —
I tried giving you a call last night before I left, hoping to clear this all up.
Minnie forwarded everything to me and we talked about what was going on.
This is my understanding:
In MOST cases we would consider the blue band of paint that the letters are sitting on as part of the sign. The blue band
is clearly there to make the letters stand out — just like a lighted cabinet.
However, because there is also that narrow blue trim/band that goes around the entire building, we can then consider
the bigger rectangle blue band as "architectural design" and part of the building; meaning we do not need to count that
as sign area.
It was being included in the sign area count before because we were not aware of the blue trim/band that goes all the
way around the building. We're stretching it a bit, but it should still fall within our code.
So — with that said, ANY of the 4 new revised plans you sent WILL work. I have attached the one's I'm referring to so
there is no confusion.
These are all under 44sq ft— which is the maximum allowed sign area.
I hope this clears up everything...and simplifies it
