The City's sign code permits a variety of building mounted signs, including wall signs, signs on awnings, canopy signs and
projecting signs. This sign permit application can be used to determine the total number of building mounted signs permitted
for your business. The application also provides the specific code standards for the common types of building mounted signs;
see TMC 19 Sign Code for details. Please note that you may not qualify for all signage types outlined in this application.

Each public entrance is eligible for either a flush mounted wall sign or an awning face sign.
In some cases an additional wall sign maybe permitted on walls that do not have entrances, see Section 2 of this application.

I am writing in reference to your sign application for NAPA Auto Parts at 11011 Tukwila International
Boulevard. The permit application contains all necessary materials, but unfortunately we will need an updated
measurement for the wall face of the building in order to complete the application. Currently, the
measurements used to find the surface area of the front wall have been taken by using the width of the face
multiplied by the height of the building at the highest point. However, due to the sloping roof, the permissible
surface area is likely somewhat less than the rectangular surface area provided. Please see the attached image
for a rendering of the calculable surface area (that which is outlined in red).
If you could email me with updated measurements that incorporate the angled surface area, I can move forward
on your application.
