Members present: Jan Bolerjack, John Lindsey, Roger Arnold, Katrina Dohn
Staff present: Deputy Chief Eric Lund
Guest: None
Eric Dreyer, Chief of Police
Approval of 1/13/22 minutes: It was requested that the name Belltown be changed to correctly be Allentown in
the discussion of the 42nd Ave. bridge. That change was approved.
This led to a question about if extra patrol has been assigned to the bridge. There is concern about the river
bank and weight limits. Officers have to have commercial vehicle enforcement certification, which is a 2 -week
course. They cannot write tickets for trucks being overweight now.
Chief's Update:
✓ The staffing crisis continues, with 58 of 77 positions being available. Others are on light duty or in
academy. 3 are on administrative leave and 1 is on military deployment. In non-commissioned
positions, 21 of 23 are available, with there being 1 vacancy and 1 frozen position.
✓ Overtime question: January had the highest overtime rate in the last year. However, they still came in
under budget because the vacancies gave them the ability to absorb the overtime.
✓ Video is being made about the homelessness encampments and related issues throughout the city. That
will be released soon.
✓ SPIDR Tech — has template for general questions, can add our own as well
✓ Officer Recognitions
Officer of the Year — Sgt. Zach Anderson
Officer of the Quarter — Officer Ryan McAdory
Ambra Durbin — records specialist
30 Years of Service — Officer Hines
✓ Morale — Morale is a bit better. The proposed legislation that would fix some of the problems has
helped.
Word on the Street:
✓ Get the word out to people that if they see graffiti on city property, to report it and it will be
taken care of immediately. Graffiti on private property continues to be a problem.

Good of the Order:
✓ Question about videos required to be on committees. This is from the Mayor's office.
Committee members have 90 days to do the training. Deputy Lund will find out the steps to do
that.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:21pm.
