The free download for mobile devices is designed to enhance how the City of Tukwila delivers services to the community. Users can report non -emergency issues (potholes, streetlight outages, code violations, etc.) and add the location and pictures to help the City respond quickly. Users can track the status of reports, as well as those sent in by other community members. Community members have the option of reporting issues anonymously or providing contact information for further follow up. The app also offers information and links to the City calendar, news, City services, and much more! To access Tukwila Works on a web browser, go to the Tukwila Works page. Issues can be reported directly on this web page as well. Alternatively, the app is available for download at the Apple ® and Android ® stores for free. The app is available in multiple languages by changing the language within the app settings. Please note: If you still have a copy of the previous Tukwila Works app on your smartphone from before March 2020, you will need to delete the app and download the new SeeClickFix app in it's place. GET INVOLVED IN CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) WHAT CAN CERT DO? RESIDENTIAL & • COMMUNITY CHECKS ?` Make sure family members and neighbors are safe and well following disasters TRAFFIC & CROWD MANAGEMENT Control flow of people during small power outages or large- scale concert/sporting events EMERGENCY OPS 011 CENTER STAFFING Staff emergency operations centers to help organize and complete response effort PUBLIC INFORMATION % Inform communities how to prepare, and explain resources available to help in case of emergency Come learn about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact your area. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates and trains people to provide basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. By using the training learned in the classroom and through exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders might not be immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community. Interested in taking the CERT training? Winning entries will be shared on City of Tukwila and Waste Management websites, social media, and featured in an Earth Day news release. Who Can Enter? All students K-12 who live or go to school in Tukwila What are the prizes? How to Participate 1. Email your completed application and submission to recyclenw@wm.com by Friday April 8th - 5:00 PM. 3. Email us at recyclenw@wm.com The City of Tukwila and Waste Management are partnering again to offer a Video, Photo, Art Contest for students K-12 who live in, or go to school in, Tukwila. Students are invited to demonstrate how they re -think, reduce, reuse, or recycle by creating a short video (60 seconds or less), photograph, drawing, or recycled art project. Examples could include video of actions that reduce waste, showing creative examples of reuse, or reminding others which items are recyclable per the City's guide at WMNorthwest.com/Tukwila. Prizes will be awarded by two age categories - Elementary students (K -5th grade) and Secondary students (grades 6-12.) The top finalist in each category will receive $350, 2nd place -- $200, and 3rd place -- $100. Teachers can win prizes too! Teachers who incorporate projects into their classwork will be recognized and the teacher with the most students submitting contest entries will win $400 for class supplies. Students may also enter independently of a class; it is not required that their teacher participate. Top finalists and some participants will be showcased on City of Tukwila and WM websites and social media platforms. No experience is necessary to enter the contest. Students of all ages and abilities are welcomed to participate. Fun and creativity are encouraged. City of Tukwila and WM will judge submissions on creativity, relevance to the waste reduction/recycling theme, quality, and effort. Submissions are due Friday, April 8, 2022, by 5 p.m. Finalists will be announced on April 21, the day before Earth Day, 2022.
