Collection Event
on April 3, 2021
Join us for the 2021 Residential Recycling
Collection Event at the Tukwila Community
Center from 9 am to 3 pm on April 3, 2021. This
event is for Tukwila Residents only (please bring
proof of residency).
To encourage the use of recycled plastic
materials and more efficient use of water, the
City is also offering recycled plastic rain barrels
for sale. The barrels hold 55 gallons of water and
will cost $35 each. Supply is limited.

2021 election and campaign filing information
Interested in helping guide the direction of your community? If you have
considered serving in public office, four City Council seats are up for
election this year:
• Council Position #1 - currently held by Verna Seal
• Council Position #3 - currently held by Thomas McLeod
• Council Position #5 - currently held by Zak Idan
• Council Position #7 - currently held by De'Sean Quinn
TERM OF OFFICE
January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2025
COUNCILMEMBER SALARY
$1,250 per month (2021), plus certain medical benefits.
Tukwila City Councilmembers serve at large, representing the City's
residents. Council duties include reviewing, studying, discussing and
deciding on policy and budget questions. Interaction with members of the
community involves public and personal meetings, email or other written
correspondence, and phone conversations. Councilmembers attend
weekly Council meetings, as well as meetings of standing committees and
special meetings scheduled throughout the year.
A candidate must be a registered voter and a resident of Tukwila for at
least one year. Candidates should have a working knowledge of the laws
that regulate City government.

By mail: May 3 - May 21, 4:30pm, regardless of postmark
In person: May 17, 8:30am - May 21, 4:30pm
Online: May 17, 9:OOam - May 21, 4:OOpm
ELECTION DATES
Primary: August 3, 2021
General: November 2, 2021
