AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA VACATING A STRIP OF LAND
150 FEET BY 20 FEET, SAID STRIP LYING NORTH OF AND ADJACENT
TO SOUTHCENTER BOULEVARD AND EAST OF AND ADJACENT TO 52ND
AVENUE SOUTH.

WHEREAS, a valid petition has been submitted requesting vacation of a
certain portion of Southcenter Boulevard; and
Whereas, a Public Hearing on this matter was held before the City
Council on 2 April 1979 in accordance with RCW 35.79.020 and
Whereas, City Council Resolution 744 was adopted on 16 June 1980
directing preparation of appropriate documents to effect the subject street
vacation and
Whereas, this action is exempt from the State Environmental Policy
Act WAC 197 -10 -170 (9b).
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following described portion of Southcenter Boulevard,
as shown in the map attached as Exhibit A, is hereby vacated:
That portion of tract 2 Brookvale Garden Tracts, according to plat
recorded in Vol. 10 of Plats, pg. 47, records of King County, WA
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of line 70 ft. Northerly of and
parallel with the 1 -RE line of Primary State Highway No. 1, South
178th Street to South 126th Street, with a line 40 ft. Easterly of
and parallel with the Y line of said highway; thence Southerly
parallel with said Y line 20.07 ft. more or less to a line 50 ft.
Northerly of said 1 -RE line; thence Easterly parallel with said 1 -RE
line 150 ft.; thence Northerly at right angles 20 ft. to said line
which is 70 ft. from said 1 -RE line, thence Westerly parallel with
said 1 -RE line 150 feet,, more or less, to the point of beginning.
Section 2. Pursuant to Ordinance #1086, section 5, the subject vacation
shall not become effective until the party acquiring the land shall compensate
the City in an amount equal to one -half the assessed valuation of said property
pursuant to RCW 35.79.030.

Section 3. The total square footage of the area to be vacated is
3000 and current value, based upon the adjacent property value as shown on
the records of the Department of Assessments is $0.74 per square foot. In
accordance with section 2 of this ordinance, compensation is due the City in the
amount of $111.0.70.
Section 4. The City of Tukwila, in accordance with RCW 35.79.030
shall retain the right to exercise and grant easements in respect to the vacated
land for the construction repair, and maintenance of public utilities and services.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
regular meeting thereof this c ,2 day of 1980.
