Commission to discuss and approve the Foster High School – Black Student Union request for funds for fundraising opportunities on Juneteenth Celebration event. The Commission provided input to City staff regarding outreach, particularly for Tukwila’s immigrant and refugee communities, the Commission would like to see the th Fort Dent 4of July Fireworks annual event be brought back to the City. Niesha Fort-Brooks, Community Engagement Manager presented to the Commission on the City of Tukwila Community Leadership Initiative Program (formally known as the Community Connector program.) The Commission inquired about outreach efforts and commended the City for the community collaboration. Commissioners discussed individual capacity for the Juneteenth celebration and availability. New Business: Commission was briefed on the Spice Bridge Community Art Nights Grant Proposal request (informational only). Community-Oriented April 14, 2022: Advisory Board approved March 10, 2022, minutes; Tukwila Policing Citizens Police Chief provided his monthly update, current COPCAB vacancies, and Advisory Board options for future COPCAB meetings (virtual, hybrid or in-person). (COPCAB) Tukwila Library April 5, 2022: TLAB approved the February agenda and minutes from February Advisory Board 1, 2022. Board members received anupdate on open vacancies, Little Libraries update, 2022 Goals and Budget. Parks CommissionApril13, 2022:Commissioners discussed Park rules and enforcement; Discussion on the Tukwila Pond Master Plan; Fall/Winter maintenance update Planning Commission April 28, 2022: City of Tukwila Board of Architectural Review (BAR) Public Hearing. Purpose of the public hearing is on the major modification to Approve Design Review for the expansion of the Vietnamese Martyr’s Church.
