Chief's Update:
✓ Staffing is at a critical level. Recruitment and retention work goes on.
✓ Discussion of some of the reform bills that are currently before the legislature
✓ Will be bringing on a new Community Engagement Coordinator to take some pressure off of CPT team.
✓ Looking for community engagement to develop 5 -year Strategic Plan
✓ Survey — not many responses as it is. May move to link with Spider Program that automatically gives a
follow-up contact with cases reported.
✓ Covid has affected staffing and morale. Request made for COPCAB members to encourage kind
words/recognition by the community to appreciate TPD.
COPCAB Special Recognition:
✓ Chief Dreyer and Deputy Chief Lund will consider and let the members know
TPD Annual Report to Council:
✓ Will be prepared by early February
COPCAB Annual Report:
✓ Possibly to CSS Committee
Word on the Street
✓ 42nd Bridge closure has raised concerns in the Belltown neighborhood. Extra patrols have been
assigned.
✓ Graffiti complaints — public property taken care of quickly, private property needs permission
from property owner to address it. Email Deputy Chief Lund if graffiti exists.
