• Minutes for December 10, 2020 meeting were approved
• Chief's update:
o Staffing: Short 17 people due to light duty, admin leave, vacancies, background, eight frozen
position.
o Discussed department numbers, response time is on par or not increased due to staff shortages.
o Officer involved shooting, officers on admin leave.
o If department discovers officers involved in Capitol incident, they will be investigated and put on
leave.
o Officer involved in accidental discharge of weapon during traffic stop, training will be implemented.
Suspect taken into custody and given medical care.
• Community survey:
o Survey was discussed and Chief went over the questions. Chief to provide a link to COPCAB
members to review and to go live with survey.
o Discussion involved duration that survey should be out. Identifying the purpose or goal of survey
results.
o Discussed on to make sure results are consistent and transparent
o Asked if survey would track participants IP, asked if people can take survey multiple times. Chief
will get back to the Board.
• Good of the order
o Appreciate the meeting minutes and link put on social media
o Need to get the survey out to for people to review.
o We allowed time in the end for guests to speak and ask questions of the Chief.
