This meeting will be held in-person in the Executive Conference Room at the Tukwila Community Center, 12424 42nd Avenue South. Call to Order LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish people. We acknowledge their continuing connections to land, waters, and culture. Ongoing Business (40 min) Guest Speakers: • 2023 -2024 Biennial Budget Outreach Survey. Niesha Fort -Brooks and Tony Cullerton will present a citywide survey that commissioners will take at the meeting. • Renovation of Performing Arts Center at Foster High School. Liliana Cardenas, Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Capital Projects for the Tukwila School District will present. Ongoing Business (40 min) Commissioner Reports a. Sheila Coppola: - update on the collaboration of the Duwamish Tribe and artist Jacoub Reyes. Legacy TraiI and potential partnership with the Duwamish Tribe. Two guests attended: Ken Workman, great, great, great, great grandson of Chief Seattle, TribaI Council Member Sharon Leishman, Director, Duwamish Alive Coalition: sites along the river are very special for their natural, cultural, and tribal significance. Public needs to know more about how all these sites are connected. Interpretive signage connecting them all would be a benefit. It's approximately 3 miles. It's a story of people and culture. Will find out about signage that is used at Longfellow [reek. Shelia: the TAC could facilitate experiences along the river. Michael: Potential to include this work in our Strategic Plan. c. Cynthia Chesak: report on whether the Rainier Symphony would like to make a requestfor funds. Sent an email but did not hear anything.
