Ongoing Business (40 min) Guest Speakers: • 2023 -2024 Biennial Budget Outreach Survey. Niesha Fort-Brooks and Tony Cullerton will present a citywide survey that commissioners will take at the meeting. • Renovation of Performing Arts Center at Foster High School. Liliana Cardenas, Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Capital Projects for the Tukwila School District will present. o Seeking assistance in making up a $2 million capital project budget shortfall. Would like the TAC to advocate for the project. Commissioner Reports • Foster Mural Update from Honey Suwanchote. It is a student-run project. It is a one-month project. The students have made significant progress. Just finer work is necessary. TAC Minutes June 22, 2022 Page 3 o Cynthia will follow up with Mr. Sarino the art teacher on funding of the project and a previously existing mural (which was funded by the TAC and 4Culture) that has restoration needs. The cost for that needs to be determined, including commissioning of an artist. • Open discussion o Shawn reported out that progress has been made in re -framing 5 art pieces. Staff Reports a. Arts Strategic Plan Update Propose work begin in fall funded through the 1% arts budget. 15. New Business (15 min) a. Spice Bridge Farmer’s Market/Community Art Nights Grant Proposal Request The TAC approves on condition that two market days are held this summer. b. Beginning the process of recruiting for the 2 vacant commissioner positions. Michael will draft up a flyer for review by the TAC to be used at the SYINTP events this summer. 16. Other (10 min) • Any additional comments from staff or commissioners. o Pinky commented on Juneteenth. It was a nice event in support of the arts and was well received. o Cynthia talked to the Rainier Symphony about them drafting up a memo. 17. Agenda for Next/Future Meetings (5 min) 18. Adjournment
