Meeting Minutes
August 15, 2022 5:30 p.m. - Hybrid Meeting; Duwamish Conference Room & MS Teams

Chair Kruller called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
I. BUSINESS AGENDA
A. Solid Waste Contract Award
Staff provided an overview of a recommendation to award to award a contract to Recology for
the provision of solid waste services for November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2033.

• Make scoring details available to Council and the public

No recommendation. Forward to August 22, 2022 Committee of the Whole.
B. Interlocal Agreement: Duwamish Basin Steward
Staff is seeking Council approval to sign an interlocal agreement with King County, the City of
Seattle, and the Port of Seattle to support a new Duwamish Basin Steward position. Tukwila
will contribute 12% of the cost which is available from Surface Water Funds.

• Provide detail on position's worksite and hiring process

C. Consultant Agreement: S. 131St Place Drainage Improvement Project
Staff is seeking Council approval of a contract with PACE Engineers in the amount of
$371,610.00 for engineering and design of the project.

Unanimous approval. Forward to August 22, 2022 Special Consent Agenda.
D. Contract Amendment: Macadam Road South Water Upgrade & Sidewalk Improvements
Staff is seeking Council approval of Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 22-015 with Laser
Underground & Earthworks, Inc. in the amount of $300,000 for additional construction costs
caused by flagging needs, alternate schedule, and out of scope work.

Miscellaneous
Chair Kruller mentioned receipt of a resident email regarding the proposed solid waste contract.
She asked staff to circulate to the full Council and other staff.
