Commissioner Reports (open discussion)
• TAC viewed the restored artwork. Michael will contact the Frye to ask regarding locking
technology to hang the art securely.
• Cynthia inquired about the existing mural that needs replacement placards (Cynthia will reach
out to Sunco to get a quote) and touching up damaged portions (Tom Layer the head custodian
can give guidance). It also needs interpretive signage regarding the mural's historical
significance.
• Kai reported that the TAC was the only organization that assisted Gallery 110 in recruiting artists
for their scholarship.
• Sheila passed out flyers for the Jacoub Reyes event.
• Sheila walked the Legacy Trail. There is a real issue with noise (Duwamish Hill Preserve — firing
range; and Cecil Moses Park — traffic. Are there ways to mitigate the noise? For example, an art
wall at Cecil Moses, a buffer for the firing range.)
Staff Reports
• Vacant Positions candidates Pat Bako and Verna Seal have been interviewed and are on their
way to approval.
• Tukwila Lights funding. ($5K for exploratory/preparatory work). Action Item: TAC approved.
• Working on Strategic Plan contract, will likely be going preparatory work in the August meeting.
