AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO ABUSE
POLICE DOGS OPERATING WITHIN THE CITY OF
TUKWILA OR TO INTERFERE WITH THEIR DUTIES.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila often finds it necessary to
utilize highly trained police dogs to enforce City and State laws, and
WHEREAS, these police dogs constitute a valuabl_b asstt to
their respective agencies.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person
to willfully or maliciously torture, torment, beat,
kick, strike, mutilate, injure, disable or kill any
dog used by the Police Department of the City of
Tukwila and /or any other governmental agency
operating within the Tukwila City Limits in the
performance of the functions or duties of such depart-
ment, or to interfere with or meddle with any such dog
while being used by said department or any member there-
of in the performance of any of the functions or duties
of said department or of such officer or member.
Section 2. Any person found guilty of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be punished under the provisions of
Tukwila Municipal Code 1.08.
