AN ORDINANCE OF IRE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE 639 AND RECOGNIZING THE POSITION
CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE COMMISSIONED MEMBERS OF THE TUKWILA
POLICE DEPARTMENT,

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE 639 AND RECOGNIZING THE POSITION
CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE COMMISSIONED MEMBERS OF THE TUKWILA
POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, Ordinance 639 was adopted on August 21, 1970, and;
WHEREAS, additions in the establishment of position classifications
of commissioned personnel within the Tukwila Police Department have occurred
since the adoption of Ordinance 639, and;
WHEREAS, RCW 41.26.030 Section 4 (C) requires the identification
of the positions by Ordinance for eligibility for participation in the Law
Enforcement Officer's, Firefighter's (LEOFF) Retirement System.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 2 of Ordinance 639 is amended as follows:
"Section 2 The term "Law Enforcement Officer" and "City
Police Officer" shall cover all such regular, full -time
personnel of the City of Tukwila Police Department who have
been appointed to offices, positions, or ranks of the City
of Tukwila Police Department which are herewith expressly
created, to -wit: Chief of Police, Lieutenant(s), Sergeant(s),
Patrolmen.
