THE DUTIES AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE POLICE CHIEF. BE IT ORDAINED NT THE CCt1NC I L OF TEE TOWN OF T:TLWIBA: Section 1. That the Mayor be authorized to appoint one of the citizens of the Town of Tukwila as Town l with pay. Section 2. That the Town Marshal shall be required to perform all duties of the office of Marshal according to Section 1263, State of Washington Laws relating to Cities and `owns Section 3. The Town .e:iarshal shall execute a bond to the Town of Tukwila in the sum of FIVE HUNDRED (500.00) DOLLARS conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties, said bond to be issued by some good surety company approved by the Council and paid for by the Town of Tukwila. He shall receive as compensation for his services as Marshal the sum of $50.00 per year, payable annually. Section 4. The schedule of fees allowed. the Torn Marshal or any Deputy Town Marshal in any cases in which the Town of Tukwila appears as party plaintiff shall be as follows: Making arrest, except for traffic Code violations 2.00 Serving notice to appear or warrant 1.00 Witness fees 1.00 i\iilag e, using own car in line of duty,10,C per mile Transfering prisoner to County Jail 4.00 Section 5. Marshal shall also be appointed Police Chief, with all necessary authority for law enforcement granted to a Police officer of a 4th. class town. He shall enforce traffic regulations according to the Washington 1 r 1 otor #ehicle Act incorporated in Ordinance No. 195,of the Town of Tukwila. Section 6. The Police Chief shall receive compensation only while active- ly engaged in law enforcement. �le shall be on duty for not less than twenty (20) hours per month, not to exceed thirty (30) hours in any one month.. Section 7. The compensation of Police Chief shall be TWO DOL L- RS 2.O0 per hour, not to exceed $680.00 during the year of 1953. Section 3. That Ordinance 214 is hereby repealed. Section 9.
