FireRMS 5.0 Version: 2.0.25 Three amts were assigned to this mciden. . Six personnel responded. We arnve „Tukwila,Fire Department Page: 4 Incident Report 2000-0001280-000 Printed: 04/21/2000 21:24:25 Narratives on scene at 1030 hours. A semi truck with an overseas open container filled with wood products had rolled onto its side, spilling the wood onto and under the overpass. There were no injuries. The saddle tanks on the truck were leaking from the fill cap. The driver told vs that he had just filled up with diesel fuel. We diked the leading edge of the spill near the roads edge. Then made two dikes of rice hull ash and sand nearer to the tanks. Matt Hickey (haz mat tech) shut off the fuel tank crossover valve and tried patch the fill valve with "Pig Putty” . It slowed the leak a substantial amount. We then soaked the diesel with absorbent pads and placed them in plastic bags. The two tow trucks righted the truck and the leak stopped. We advised the owner that it was his responsibility to clean up the and dispose the diesel properly. The State DOT was there and had taken over the scene. We then and cleared at 1315 hours. The incident occurred at 13300 599 NB Fy, Tukwila in District 001. The local station is ST52. The general description of this property is highway or divided highway.
