Three units Sunpro, Inc. FireRMS 5.0 Version: 2.0.25 were assigned to this incident Six personnel responded We amved on scene at 1543 hours and cleared at 1642 hours. The incident occurred at 15252 Tukwila Internationa B1, Tukwila in District 012. The local station is ST54. The general description of this property Tukwila Fire Department Page: 4 Incident Report 2000.0002155-000 Printed: 07/04/2000 08:13:04 Narratives is gas station with a deli. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and confinement. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Upon our arrival we found one fill hose from pump #4 on the ground with a small leak still coming from the pump end. The employee inside was still doing business and had all the pumps operating. I shut off the emergency pump switch and instructed the employee to shut down the fuel station until we got the leak under control. I also asked him to contact their maintenence division to come out and repair the pump. We placed rice hull ash all around the pump. There was maybe 2-3 gallons on the ground. We also put up scene tape around the pumps to keep the public out. Lt. Kohler arrived and took control of working with the employee, who had only been with the company for two weeks, in getting ahold of someone from the parent company to come out and make the necessary repairs. When we left, the pumps were turned off at the breaker panel, and the pumps were cordined off with scene tape. My investigation found that neither of the two employees at the station called 911. When I asked them why they did not call, they said they were too busy with customers. It was also very evident that they do not have a new employee training program. Niether employee turned off the emergency pump shutoff, nor called 911. They did not know who to contact, nor did they have a good list of phone numbers to find out who to call.
