One unit was assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1530 hours and cleared at 1550 hours. The incident occurred at 14802 Tukwila Internationa B1, Tukwila in District 11. The local station is ST54. The general description of this property is department or discount store. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and confinement. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 0004059 has been assigned to this incident. Car leaked approx one gallon of gasoline onto parking area adjacent to store front, prior to arrival car was pushed away from building and leak had stopped. On arrival store owner was attempting to flush gasoline into storm sewer with buckets of water and a broom. L54 immediately halted the flushing into the storm drains, diked the remaining spill, placed absorbent pads into storm drains and onto pooled liquid on the pavement. Absorbed remainder with bagged absorbents, placed materials into plastic bag for disposal. Checked the car, apparently only leaks with car parked on an incline, advised occupant to have the fuel system serviced ASAP, not to drive if there is a gasoline odor. Storm drain catch basins caught all gasoline, none was flushed further down the line. End of Report Sunpro, Inc. While Derek did not have to submit a formal request, the best way to handle this important and time sensitive issue is through use of the Public Records Request process. As part of that, we would like to know if there are any significant environmental issues related to the sites. I've attached a list of the sites with parcel numbers and addresses. I've also attached maps since that may help with context. Would you please ask the key staff in the following departments to gather any pertinent records? Primarily, we are looking for the following: (1) Any environmental contamination or chemical releases or related cleanup (2) Any underground storage tanks or related permits (3) Any code enforcement actions related to environmental contamination (4) Any other environmental risks We also would like to know if there were any businesses gal on the sites that are likely to have environmentally hazardous materials such as a dry cleaners, gas station, paint supply store, etc. Unfortunately, we are on a tight time frame. I need to pass this information along to our consultant by noon this coming Monday, September 256. Please ask staff to place whatever they can find by that time into a folder on the Z drive. Since there are three sites, it would help me if you can have a sub folder for each site. I assume this would need to be sent to Public Works (Laurie), DCD (Kia and Jacklyn/Lori), Fire (Norita and Nicole), Finance (Cindy), and your office (Barbara).
