Incident Report
2002-0000328-000
Tukwila Fire Department
While enroute, advised by FIRE ONE that this was a leaking gas tank on a minivan, NO
FIRE.
On arrival (12200 block of SB SR599), found a brown minivan (WA Lic 138 EZN
VIN:*1B4GH54R1PX607164*) leaking gasoline onto the street. A piece of road debris
(spring hanger from a semi-truck/tractor?) had speared the tank underneath the vehicle,
making an approximately 3" hole in the tank.
E53 crew placed a poly-tank/hazmat container under the tank to catch the remaining
leaking fuel, and spread a bag of RICE HULL ASH on the spill/runoff already on the
ground. Instructed the vehicle owner to have the tow truck driver dispose of container
when the vehicle was moved; Mr.DeLeon indicated that he would do so. E53 then left the
scene, with WSP Trooper still on due to coordinate tow truck arrival and final incident
