At 2216 hours on Saturday August 17, 2002 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Three units•
to this incident. Eight personnel responded. we amved on scene at 2222
hours and cleared at 2305 hours. The incident occurred at 17746 Southcenter Pky,
Tukwila in District 006. The local station is ST51. The general description of this property
is outside or special property. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
This alarm was generated when a passerby reported the smell of natural gas near
Applebees on the Parkway. Upon our arrival we located a gas meter that was damaged
below the main shut-off valve. Puget Sound Energy was summoned. It was a small leak
and did not pose a threat to the structure. Incoming units were reduced to code yellow and
eventually placed in service prior to the arrival of PSE. The actual location was near the
Bon Home Store. PSE took over and they indicated that they did not require our services
and that we could leave at our discretion. I agreed and we returned in service.
Alarm number 0002609 has been assigned to this incident.
