At 0802 hours on Tuesday October 15, 2002 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Five units •
were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arnved on scene at
0806 hours and cleared at 0858 hours. The incident occurred at 896 Southcenter Mall,
Tukwila in District 004. The local station is ST51. The general description of this property
is restaurant or cafeteria. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0003302 has been assigned to this incident.
Upon arrival Southcenter Security advised that the gas leak had been found and shut off.

Narratives
Code greened all units except E-52. Went inside the food court and found a strong smell
of natural gas in the area of the Panda Express. Called for a multi -gas meter. L-54 went
to get one from R-51. Found that the Panda Express was locked front and rear. At the
rear door pulled hard on the door and the panic hardware came off of the inside of the
door. In the kitchen found that the gas valve for a deep fryer had been left fully on and
the gas flowed all night. Luckily the ventilation for the kitchen had been running all night
and most of the fumes had been removed from the building. Note- maintenance had shut
off the gas meter on the roof for this business. Called for PSE to come out and check on
what gas appliances had been shut down with this meter and see that affected items were
relit. Readings in the kitchen area showed for flammable limits.
All Tukwila units in service returning.
