Tukwila Fire Department
several teachers have noticed a gas smell in two adjoining rooms. These rooms were being
used as a classroom and an office. Only the office was occupied at the time of the call. The
school remained occupied during the call
We monitored the air in the rooms with the MicroMAX air monitor. We found nothing.
The rooms smelled like new carpet. I advised the principal of the school that we found
nothing. I advised him that he could bring in an Industrial Hygienist if he wanted to pursue
the source of this smell.
We returned in service.

We responded to a call from Joe Duffy at the Tukwila Elementary School. He stated that
several teachers have noticed a gas smell in two adjoining rooms. These rooms were being
used as a classroom and an office. Only the office was occupied at the time of the call. The
school remained occupied during the call
We monitored the air in the rooms with the MicroMAX air monitor. We found nothing.
The rooms smelled like new carpet. I advised the principal of the school that we found
nothing. I advised him that he could bring in an Industrial Hygienist if he wanted to pursue
the source of this smell.
We returned in service.
