Tukwila Fire Department
flammable hquld spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded.
We arrived on scene at 1405 hours and cleared at 1439 hours. The incident occurred at
15252 Tukwila Intl. Blvd, Tukwila in District 12. The local station is ST54. The general
description of this property is service station, gas station. The primary task(s) performed at
the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and confinement.
No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0003447 has been assigned to this incident.
Gasoline tanker truck was off-loading fuel into underground storage tanks, driver was
distracted by a small leak in one hose and didn't properly connect a second hose. When he
noticed it too was leaking, he shut down valve and pulled hose from the connection at the
tank. The contents of the hose, about 10 to 15 gallons, drained on the asphalt. The driver
immediately began cleanup, and requested the station call 911. On arrival, he had run out
of absorbants and requested our assistance. We applied 2 bags rice hull ash and one bag
water -surface sorbant, stood by with dry chem extinguisher until all fuel absorbed or
evaporated. Arco personnel to remove and dispose of used materials.

At 1403 hours on Tuesday October 29, 2002 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable hquld spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded.
