McCoy, Michael LT 1 At 1952 hours on Wednesday July 9, 2003 we were dispatched to a chemical hazard (no spill or leak). Four units were assigned to this incident. Thirteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1956 hours and cleared at 0004 hours. The incident occurred at 17105 Southcenter Pky, Tukwila in District 006. The local station is ST51. The general description of this property is vehicle parking area. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. E51 & B51 Dispatched to poss drug lab. Upon E51 arrival there was products from a lab in the dumpster. I added H52 & E52 to the call and established Parkway command. Upon B51 arrival B51 took command and E51 officer became Operations. We started with 2 H/M techs in level B (Hickey& Hayman)with a decon team (Finley & Whitcutt) in place pulling garbage bags out of the recylce dumpster. We had a large amount of stuff to go thru. We then called for a H/M team call back. And arranged staffing to have all onduty haz/mat tech's on scene. B51 called for DOE. Captian Grisham became Safety Officer.The 2nd entry team (M.Brooks & Popejoy) started separating the garbage from chemicals and supplies from drug lab. We had a TPD officer on the scene and it was decided by him that it would not be considered a crime scene. Doe arrived @ 2234. Doe sampled and overpacked all the chemicals and removed them from the site. The garbage was returned to a dumpster. All Tukwila units retumed. Equipment used 4 level B suits, H/Z Mat tape & Gloves, Plastic for Ground cover & Several Large plastic H/M Bags. Alarm number 3002192 has been assigned to this incident.
