Narratives
Dispatched to possible dumping of hazardous materials. Upon arrival met with BNSFRR
employee who stated that a tanker truck had evedentially been dumping into a manhole in
the roadway as there was liquid in the street and it was odorous. No tanker on location
now. At the sewer manhole found sewage actually coming out around the edges of the
cover and running down and across the roadway. The leakage would come and go and
was squirting out under pressure.
B-51 arrived and explained to him the circumstances. B-51 went to the rendering works
and spoke with an employee. He found that there is a problem with the high pressure
sewage line and that is why it is coming up around the cover. They do not dump into any
manholes anymore and there probably was a truck parked by the manhole cover as they
often stage there on the way out. The odor that was smelled was just from the operation of
the rendering works and it was strong at this time.
E-52 and B-51 in service- returning.
