At 0830 hours on Friday April 2, 2004 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable liquid spill. Two units were assigned to this incident. Four personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 0837 hours and cleared at 0851 hours. The incident
occurred at 13310 Interurban Ave S, Tukwila in District 0814. The local station is 53. The
general description of this property is service station, gas station. The primary task(s)
performed at the scene by responding personnel was hazard removal. No mutual/automatic
aid was given or received.
E53 responded to a reported 8-10 gallon gasoline spill at the above address. The service

Narratives
station attendant was changing gasoline filters on a gasoline pump. Apparently, some
gasoline leaked from the filter onto the ground. The actual amount was no more than two
gallons. E53 crew absorbed the gasoline near the storm drain and used rice hull ash to
absorb the gasoline on the ground. E53 Lt gave instructions to the attendant on when to
open the pump and what to do with the ash. E53 returned.
