At 1117 hours on Saturday July 24, 2004 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable liquid spill. Three units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 1125 hours and cleared at 1150 hours. The incident
occurred at 12400 I-5 Fwy N, Tukwila in District 007. The local station is 53. The general
description of this property is highway or divided highway. The primary task(s) performed
at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials leak control and
containment. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0002429 has been assigned to this incident.
Mr. Freeman was the driver of a motorcycle that was laid down and ended under the rear
of a vehicle that was stopped in the HOV lane of I-5 NB. He had considerable road rash
on his arms, hand and leg but declined any aid except for two ice paks. The gasoline tank
on his bike was leaking fuel, approx one to two gallons. With the temp in the 80's moved
all persons away. Wet down the bike and area with 1 3/4" line. Trooper then pulled the
car ahead so that the bike became free. Stood the bike up to stop the flow of gasoline.
Wet down the area again. Any remaining gasoline on the ground quickly evaporated.
2000 Kawasaki Vulcan- 65909 WA Nov 04
Passenger in vehicle was treated for back pain and transported via AMR.
E-53 in service- returning.
