spill or leak). Two units were assigned to this incident. Five personnel responded. We
arrived on scene at 1928 hours and cleared at 1948 hours. The incident occurred at 4237 S
144 St, Tukwila in District 011. The local station is 54. The general description of this
property is fire station. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was notification of other agencies. No mutual/automatic aid was given or
received.
Alarm number 0002650 has been assigned to this incident.
Around 1845-1900 hours a citizen, Scott Campbell, dropped off a back pack containing
suspicious materials at Sta 54. He stated he found the pack at Crystal Springs Park. He
opened the pack looking for ID and found the pack to contain some suspicious items. He
attempted to deliver the pack to the TPD on TIB. No one was at the location so he brought
it to Sta 54. FF McCone received the pack, brought it to the apparatus bay and notified me.
I found the pack with all compartments open, without touching the pack I identified a
bottle labeled muratic acid, two canning jars, a pump spray device, a funnel and a piece of
small diameter plastic hose. I notified B51 of the situation, he advised to contact TPD to
check the pack. I requested a PD unit from Fire One. We moved the pack to the rear
parking lot of Sta 54. Officers Bisson and Devlin arrived and searched the pack. They
identified the contents as a possible "tweakers" kit. The small plastic hose was taped to the
hose of the spray can. One of the jars had an unknown, clear liquid in it. All containers
were sealed, with no signs of leaks or odors.
B51 arrived with a over pack drum to place the pack and its contents in. B51 contacted the
DOE to pick up and dispose of the drum and the pack. The drum was placed in the rear
parking lot of Sta 54.
