Three units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0857 hours and cleared at 1035 hours. The incident occurred at 15600 W Valley Hwy, Tukwila in District 006. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is highway or divided highway. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials leak control and containment. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 0002953 has been assigned to this incident. Upon arrival E51 found a MVA involving a small SUV and a small rental truck, two TPD units also were onscene. The fuel tank of the rental truck was ruptured and had leaked its contents to the roadway, which was spread over the intersection by other vehicle traffic. Approximately 15 gallons of fuel had leaked from the tank. The driver of the SUV bad minor pain in his right hand, no other injuries ( KC BLS Form Incident # 2953 ). E51 established " Interurban Command " and directed TPD to close the intersection. B51 was added to this incident. I directed E51 to take patient care and E52 to the fuel leak. B51 arrived and called for a sand truck from DOT. E51 and E52 used 16 bag of rice hull ash and 2 bags of absorbent pads to pick up and contain the fuel. E52 went to Sta 51 for the air pump to off load fuel from the tank, the tank was found to be empty. DOT arrived with the sand truck and covered the spilled fuel. DOE called me for a report and did not respond to the scene. DOT stated they would pick up and dispose of the absorbent pads. All TFD units returned.
