Narrative Text At 2123 hours on Saturday April 23, 2005 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Six units were
assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 2128
hours and cleared at 2147 hours. The incident occurred at 7200 Fun Center Way,
TUKWILA in District 003. The local station is 52. The general description of this property
is hotel/motel, commercial. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel were material detection, monitoring, sampling, and analysis. Automatic aid was
received on this incident.

natural gas inside a business.
While enroute, advised by FIRE THREE that occupants were not evacuating, but the smell
was in the lobby and second floor, coming from the heater vents.
B51 was first to arrive, reported a 200x75, six story hotel, Tukwila PD on location,
investigating.
E52 was next to arrive and entered the building with the MicroMax detector, SCBA in
standby position. Investigation on first floor inconclusive - strong odor of chlorine from
swimming pool. On second floor an odor similar to "sewer gas" was barely detectable.
MicroMax read ZERO flammable mixture during investigation. No odor was detected on
the third floor, and investigation of pump house was also negative, except for a slight odor
of burned LNG, but no mercaptan odor.
Final disposition: sewer gas, or mixture of LNG exhaust from pool pump house mixed
with chlorine/pool odor. No flammable mixture of LNG found inside or outside the
building.
All units returned in service
