Narrative Text At 1712 hours on Saturday April 30, 2005 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Two units
were assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1712

hours and cleared at 1934 hours. The incident occurred at 13400 MACADAM Rd S,
TUKWILA in District 5350. The general description of this property is residential street,
road or residential driveway. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. E53 was
asked to assist a PSE gas service tech on location with assessing a sewer cover to help
ventilate a pocket of detected natural gas. On arriving found that we did not have the
required wrench to assist with removing the cover and in turn contacted B51 to help
retrieve one from a city call out crew. After further scene assessment, along with B51 and
PSE techs, it was found that the underground leak appears more extensive and will require
additional PSE resources, i.e. backhoe crew, flagging crew, PSE supervisor, etc.. E53
stood by to assist PSE a short time while they got their resources enroute and then return
after a TPD officer arrived on location to help provide traffic control. E53 and B51
returned in-service
