E51 dispatched AUTOMATIC AID with Kent FD units (E76, B71) for a reported odor of
natural gas at 6633 S 216 St.
While enroute instructed by E76 to standby nearest hydrant.
On arrival, parked apparatus next to nearest hydrant and was directed by B71(216
Command) to bring manpower forward to man a standby line outside while E76's crew
entered the space to take readings with a detector.
E76 sensor detected ZERO combustible atmosphere, E51 was released from assignment.
Assisted E76 rolling their hose, then left the scene.
Uy Sakamoto, a volunteer fire fighter from Ikawa, Japan (Sister City to Tukwila) was
"riding along" with E51 for this response. Upon assignment of E51 to standby crew, Uy
was dire, s s ,fid next to 1 for the duration of the incident, which he did.
