One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1440 hours and cleared at 1513 hours. The incident occurred at 451 COSTCO Dr, TUKWILA in District 1117. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is service station, gas station. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and confinement. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. E51 on location found a Toyota Carnry Page: 2 Printed: 12/26/2005 19:23:36 11 Incident Report 2005-0504648 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives leaking gasoline from somewhere around the fuel tank. The driver had filled the tank (approx. 15 gallons) when the driver of the vehicle behind saw fuel leaking. Costco employees laid down an absorbent boom, pads and neutralizer. The driver contacted AAA for a tow and was told to call the Fire department for an evaluation. E51 crew could not find the source of the leak. The leak lessened and stopped> E51 officer made contact with AAA to assist in arranging a tow. E51 crew laid down amerizorb to absorb the spilled fuel. Approx. 1-2 gallons were spilled. The area was coned off. E51 left the scene to Costco employees and retumed. Note: Vehicle information: 1999 Toyota Camry LE Wa plate 582 JSH color: tan/gold Vin # JT2BG22K9X0270054 Note: While E51 crew was dealing with the leak, another driver at another pump became quite angry with the Fire department for allowing other drivers to talk on their cell phones around a gasoline leak. She stated there were warning signs posted all around. She asked for the name and card of the crew members. E51 officer gave her his card. She drove off before and more conversation. E51 crew spoke with Costco employees and could not fmd any cell phone warning labels/signs posted.E51 officer did not feel this was a safety issue.E51 took pictures of the posted warning labels.
