location and took a couple minutes to figure out the location. Found a Central Freight
Lines semi truck with two trailers in the parking lot vrith the front left fender, hood,
bumper, tire; wrapped around a light pole in the Westfield Shopping Mall parking lot. We
were met by Mr. Michael Henshaw, operations manager, for the company. He had just
arrived on location. Found diesel leaking from the left hand fuel tank. Placed a portable
pool to catch the leaking diesel. Then called for help from B-51 and E-52 . Located the
broken fuel line. When the semi tractor hit the light jbole it pushed the fuel tank back and
sheared off the fuel. Tank was leaking from the open hole and the fitting was siphoning
back from the right hand tank and pouring onto the g}ound. Raining moderately at this
time. Were able to stop the leaks with plug and dike Estimate that 10 to 15 gallons of
diesel was lost onto the ground and went into the storm drain.
E-52 arrived with the air pump and transferred fuel into the tanks of the semi -tractor that
Mr. Henshaw had driven to the scene. Had to stop tl is process when the air pump lost
prime and would not prime again. Since leaks were stopped and stable at this time we quit
and advised Mr. Henshaw that the left hand tank needs to be pumped out when it is towed
to the shop tonight.
Did not get driver info as he was taken by company rep for drug testing due to the
involvement in an accident. Double trailers being towed and they were empty. Tractor
license # 2FO 655 Oklahoma.
E-51, E-52, and B-51 picked up equipment and returned in service.
