Two units were assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1223 hours and cleared at 1250 hours. The incident occurred at 15010 Macadam Rd S, Tukwila in District 0915. Page: 2 Printed: 02/26/2006 18:31:29 Incident Report 2006-0600693 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives Prior to dispatch Valley Com called station 52 to explain the occupant at the incident address above had called to find out if the fire department had the ability to extinguish a methanol fire. We were some what confused by the occupant's request and advised Valley Com we would investigate. We proceeded to the incident address and made contact with the occupant. The occupant stated he had two 55 gallon drums of methanol that he used to fuel the vehicles and equipment used in his business, Gasgill Mining Company, and wanted to know if they caught fire if we could extinguish them. We said yes we could. We were surprised to discover a business was being operated from this location and we were concerned that the methanol was not being stored and dispensed properly. (See pictures in \\fdntserver\common\pictures\tf06-0693*). The occupant has two 55 gallon drums sitting in his front yard; one was full and the other nearly empty. We requested B51 and he came and reviewed the situation with E52. B51 decided to hand the information over to the fire prevention office and ask them to etermine if the occupant is operating properly according to the fire code. Engine 52, d.
