Narrative Text At 1211 hours on Sunday April 2, 2006 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable liquid spill. Three units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 1217 hours and cleared at 1241 hours. The incident
occurred at 15400 interurban Ave S, Tukwila in District 0967. The local station is 52. The
general description of this property is highway or divided highway. The primary task(s)
performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and
confinement. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0601074 has been assigned to this incident.
E52 dispatched to fluid leak from MVA. B51 arrived first and upgraded E52 from
proceeding to responding due to actively leaking gas tank from a truck. Upon arrival E52
found appx. 4 gallons of gasoline had spilled from truck involved in mva while the tow
truck driver was attempting to hoist the truck onto the flatbed tow truck. E52 deployed a
66 gallon pool under the active leak. FF Karwhite observed that the leak was coming from
the top of the gas tank and would stop leaking once the truck was lifted to the flat bed and
was no longer at an angle. E52 pulled an 1 3/4 pre -connect and applied a wide fog to the

vehicle while the truck was hoisted to the flat bed by winch. Once on the tow truck the
gasoline stopped leaking. E52 spread 3 bags of Amerizorb onto spill. E53 was added by
B51. E53 arrived on location and used 2 bags of Amerizorb. The initial amerisorb was
retrieved as it was soaked with gasoline and transmission fluid. Shoveled into a five gallon
bucket and taken to station 51. The remainder of the amerisorb was Left on the roadway to
absorb trace and provide traction on the roadway. The vehicle was removed from the
scene by Skyway towing. E52 , E-53 and B-51 went in service out of quarters.
